Police Community Relations Committee popularly referred to as PCRC was created to interface with its immediate community thereby bringing policing and law enforcement closer to the people. This laudable effort and idea is replicated nationwide. The PCRC works hand in Hand with the police to ensure that there is no break down of law and order while creating a synergy between the community and law enforcement agents through the activities of PCRC in a given community.

However like most Nigerian institutions, PCRC has had its own fair share of challenges, it however have succeeded in staying above water thereby ensuring the continued existence of this special group of Nigerians who have contributed in no small measure in maintaining peace, law and order in our communities.

The FCT PCRC Command recently held its election as part of its effort towards repositioning the command for greater heights. Chief Otunba Adigun Bolaji (NLCF) emerged as the new chairman of FCT Command along with the exco.

The emergence of Chief Otunba Adigun Bolaji has brought in fillip and zest into the operations of the command with remarkable improvement in various areas of operations of the command.

Areas of immediate action been embarked upon by the new FCT exco includes familiarisation tour of all commands and divisions in FCT, commencement of sensitisation of members in FCT and reinvigorated membership drive. The new exco has also commenced massive training and manpower development for all members of PCRC in FCT, this on its own is no mean fit coupled with the fact that it comes with huge benefits to the organization as members become more aware of their responsibilities and rights which in turn will increase productivity. Another key area the new exco has harped on and are currently executing is regular divisional and command level meetings, these has so far reactivated once docile divisions, this evident in the increased and visible activities in all divisions.

Re-aligning PCRC's aims and objectives with that of the Nigerian police vis a vis their interaction with their host community has once again been brought to the front burner, this is further accentuated with the recent visit by the chairman and his exco to high ranking police officers, this singular act has further cemented the relationship between PCRC and the police.

Though the new exco is still young, with what it has achieved in the short period of its existence, it is clear that brighter days awaits PCRC FCT Command.

It is believed that with the current tempo been put into the reinvigoration of FCT PCRC by the new exco, security will be greatly improved within FCT, this will further a positive effect on business and lives of people of FCT.
